Mike:

Thread regulars will recall my post back in the sunshine days of how much I'd made in such a short amount of time.

Those same regulars have no doubt noticed how very quiet about that subject I've been since.

This may be attributed to a) the law of large numbers working against the player or b) the player's ineptness. There may be other possibilities, but these seem most likely.

With that in mind, in connection with NMTC here we had a brief reference to various financial reporting sites, and examples of how we can simultaneously look at sites that give near opposite readings.

For those of us now inclined to learn something about valuation (all the rage right about now!) where should we start, and from there, which reporting sites seem to be the most real world?

The question may be timely. While many companies are bleeding cash, or sales, or are in a profits recession, I am aware that placing a valuation on such companies is questionable...a black art perhaps. But I contend this period will be ending...some profit comparisons may actually begin to be possible starting 3Q, 4Q for sure. (I think.)

Having a tight(er) list of reporting sites may actually help the thread by making us aware of the differences among sites. Also, GM said nada (sp) about valuation, so if we want to make the most of TFM going forward (who here doesn't?), we'll each need to establish our comfortable price points.

BTW, I was rewatching the G&K tape again while you were needling uf. Good speech!
