Maybe, maybe not. In 87 when the goldstocks went down with the market, they were already up a lot, from about 60's XAU to near 160 XAU.

Gold stocks were more popular then. But now, XAU/HUI have shown little inclination lately to follow the rest of the market.
XAU/HUI are also very thinly followed now compared to then. They are at the bottom of a 20 year bear market.

I tend to think they will not drop much, if in fact they do not go up a lot instead.

In any case, if they want to sell them off from XAU 150's, that will be fine with me, I'll be gone to cash by then I believe,
