I don't know what conservationist opinions you are speaking of. I don't know of any conservationist entities that know squat about producing energy. California has conservation up the ying yang and black outs.

If the cost of energy goes up then it makes sense to spend less and conserve more. The new cost of electricity in California has lead to much more conservation and many fewer black outs. It is you ignorance of technology that causes you to speak of conservationists. As to the environment, nuclear is the only environmentally really really clean way to produce electricity.

You clear air act crap is just that. You want find some connection so you can imply mr bill style payoff like votes for pardon or some such.

Only those who know nothing about science are concerned with Kyoto. Those who don't understand economics and the game of getting money for nothing have not figured out the kyoto sham.

I've seen no data or news that any extensions have been given to any so called dirty plants. CO2 has nothing todo with dirty. Clean burning coal does nothing to reduce the amount of CO2 Coal is mostly Carbon and that's the C of CO2. The sulfur and other stuff in the coal creates less than nice gases and that's the dirty. So again what is the connection between CO2 and the EPA and burning coal. This again shows me you just don't understand basic chemistry and create reasons based on lunacy.
