Just two simple points, if i may please.
Lets do as you have done in regards to supply & demand parameters,
in that for some it is clear that manipulation has joined the equation
at many places, some have been there forever and new additions
have arrived in the last 5-10-20 years.
Identifying those factors that affect all mining companies
like the easy to mine reserves have been "hit on" too much
in this long low gold price market sets up a double negative
if the price of gold remains at this or a lower level in that profits
for the same amount of gold produced will be much lower to a
possibility that a company today with a positive cash flow can
be tomorrow in chapter 11/7. Other factors like derivative instruments
and Central Banks with or without the influence of political folks
and other Powers that Be do have their effect both small and large,
visual and secret, but bottom line to this thread's purpose is that
these gata like stuff is outside the management and dirt content
of those silver & gold companies discussed here except in a very
small almost undetected amount, and the question to hedge or
not to hedge by a specific company can be noted in a Bob Johnson
manner with just the numbers void of good & bad gata relative info.
I am now asking myself the same question you are asking yourself,
in what the bell is dougak trying to say.

Yes, but since this represents lots of Push & Shove happenings
with powerful people, both honest and corrupt in control of
huge resources,
any situation resulting from an explosive has as its destination
a possibility not where the blast happens. Like a t.v. police story
where the body was discovered not at the crime site, and the body
might not have been involved in wrong doings etc etc.
