The problem Daschlegephardt has, and the reason that the House Division of Daschlegephardt called for Condit to resign, is that Condit drowns out all the propaganda, all the talking points. Daschlegephardt can't demagogue the old folks on Social Security because the old folks are all obsessed with the New Democrat O.J. Simpson. Cheap shots like they're used to taking require public attention, and Condit is casting a huge shadow on Daschlegephardt's smoke and mirrors.

And he isn't going away-this is going to continue. And as a result, Bush is going to win more rounds in September and October.

As if things weren't bad enough for poor old Daschlegephardt...
