Elmer, thread, looks like more design wins for StrongARM, courtesy daltonthedobber on Raging Bull. Couldn't find a link on HP news sites, but HP's handheld sites show, and have been showing Hitachi CPU chips for quite a while. I believe Intel is new to HPs handhelds. - Tony

Two new HP Jornadas ; The 560 and the 565 The two models will sport the same Intel StrongARM 206MHz processor, 32MB ROM, and a 16-bit TFT color display. The difference is the 560 will have 32MB RAM while the 565 will sport 64MB of RAM. Both models also come with a CompactFlash Type I slot. The handhelds are also rumored to feature voice commands and limited speech recognition capability.

As for the operating system, the new Jornadas are expected to be powered by the new Pocket PC 2002 OS, which is based on the current Windows CE 3.0 code and not to be confused with the next-generation Talisker OS or Windows CE 4.0.
