TC, thank you. I did use click sequence leading to ADD/REMOVE Programs. IE 5.5 is there. When you hit add/remove, it brings up the menu choices "repair" or "add components". I tried BOTH choices, but did not find a delete option. How did you uninstall yours (possibly you had no problem with the add/remove programs)? When it wouldn't "remove", I deleted the file & it wasn't somehow completely gone & I got the error message trying to Install 5.0 that it wouldn't install over a newer version. In other words, the link you gave said don't despair if it isn't there, but it is there & I can't uninstall it - which is a different problem.
Am really reluctant to proceed with 6 without a real uninstall of 5.5. Maybe someone else has had this problem?
