OK Jerry,

First of all, don't chide that failed CE demo....I suppose you believe that JavaOS 1.0 will be worth a shit? Well, it won't. And I doubt v2.0 will either. They'll also be lucky if v3.0 is "useful," to quote our friend Daniel.

Regarding Windows Everywhere: By the time all this comes to pass, NT and Windows 9x will essentially be one in the same (they will merger the kernel for NT6 and the successor of "Memphis." And even now, anything that was "Designed for Windows 95" means that it also was "Designed for Windows NT" as well). I would also bet that CE fits there as well, although I haven't seen a specific roadmap for this (CE, with little legacy worries, will become anything Microsoft wants/needs it to be).

So basically, with Microsoft being the one controling all flavors of Windows, they will make cross-platformity and portability a non-issue. CE's challenge, though (I think), comes from the fact that it will run on a myriad of CPUs.
