No, we do not need to learn. We are being taught.
We believe that all software, including database software software, especially when residing within the product portfolio of essentially single product companies, will always do well, even when such product already account for a major chunk of the entire market, especially when pricing is being forced down, and particularly if having to face down coming software that can be ported easily from hardware platform to platform, developed by multi-product companies that deal concurrently in hardware, software and services.
We believe wrongly, perhaps? Maybe the big picture matters at times?

P.S. BTW, I am only up by 6.63% YTD (modest and still achievable target for year is 11%), and, as usual, set up for outrageous increase in the future, of course; a very respectable and acceptable return compared to ORCL's negative return since March 2nd post referenced above ...
