HOUSTON, Aug 28, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Mr. Pat Elliott, the President of American Energy Services, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AEYS) (AES), has returned this week from Mexico, where he had spent two days at the convention of the Central States of Mexico Alliance. The convention included state and local dignitaries from the seven Mexican states, Guanajuato, Queratero, Tamaulipas, Hidalgo, Guadalajara, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi that make up the Alliance. The convention featured discussions on numerous topics, including tourism, external investment in the Alliance states, the rededication of a rail line that serves the Alliance states, and a presentation by Mr. Elliott. Mr. Elliott's presentation was on the Green Oasis Environmental Study, and was prepared in conjunction with David Castillo, a San Luis Potosi ecological expert, in response to recent legislation enacted by the state of San Luis Potosi which prohibits the illegal dumping of waste oils that contaminate water tables. Green Oasis Environmental, Inc. is promoting a pilot plant which was described in Mr. Elliott's presentation, and which would convert waste oils, using a process patented by Green Oasis, into usable petroleum products. The state of San Luis Potosi has indicated that it is in favor of promoting this pilot plant. Additionally, the Chairman of the Alliance, Roberto Leal Tobias, has circulated a letter of commitment to numerous municipalities in the Alliance region to support the implementation of Green Oasis' patented waste oil conversion process in the Alliance region. AES is working with Green Oasis to promote this pilot plant project, and it has a right of first refusal to supply products to the plant, should it be constructed. While there can be no assurance as to whether or when the pilot plant will be constructed, or to what extent AES will be able to participate in the Construction of the pilot plant, AES is continuing its wide-ranging efforts to support Green Oasis Environmental, Inc. in the promotion of its pilot waste oil conversion plant, and AES is continuing to promote other projects that are overseen by Mr. Tristan Berlanga and AES' Mexico City office.
