Four years prep school Andover, four years college Yale, 2-3 years Harvard, weekends and vacations in Kennebunkport. Tons of time in DC and New York City. So maybe for a few years he lived in Texas while his Dad was in the oil business but he didn't really live there until much later in his life when the Texas cronies of his Dad started offering him sweetheart deals for Harkness and then the Texas Rangers, neither of which he had to work for. His Texas twang and folksy charm are just acts he picked up and uses to cover up his Blue Blood east coast upbringing, lack of sharpness on real issues and they the twang does play well in the "heartland". Down in Texas he's known as "a Yankee but our Yankee" but he was bred in the the preppy east coast world. Those were his formative years from 14-24. He's also no Washington outsider by any means. He's as inside as they come, esp the people around him. Bush is a BIG LIE in so many ways it's hard to count. The only thing he's credible on is defending big oil companies, which seems to be his real job, that and running for office. Both of which he's good at, and good at precious little else.
The Bush spin machine is basically selling America a hollow candidate with a phony facade. It's not only an act it's a dishonest one. And besides, even if he is part Texan who says that's a good thing? Just look at the corruption there from the S+L debacle to the Energy gougings. Now exactly an honest bunch he's associated with.
