AC Flyer... Actually I have owned RE since 1982. I borrowed $15,000.00 from my IRA for the down-payment and assumed an FHA mortgage. I am now in my 4th house and have approximately $250,000.00 equity in this house. If I hadn't bought when I did, I could not afford to be a homeowner today. My main reason for purchasing a house was the simple reason that I wanted a house paid for by the time I retired. At the time I bought, apartments had changed from 1 year leases to 6 month leases and were raising rents every six months. I could never get ahead! I have never regretted buying real estate. People who rent are simply throwing their money away and making their landlords rich.
