Trust me, my father doesn't care what the rate of return on his house happens to be. He's been living in it for free for decades, now. What, exactly, is the rate of return on free housing over two or three decades? <gg>

He's held a huge portfolio of stocks and mutual funds for about the same number of years, and THAT rate of return has been just fine....but again, he doesn't care because he'll never sell any of it.
