Intel Still Expects Seasonal Improvement
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Reuters) - Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news), the world's largest maker of personal computer microchips, still expects an seasonal improvement in demand for the second half of the year, Paul Otellini, general manager of the Intel Architecture Group said on Tuesday.

``Almost by definition, anything has to be better than the first half,'' he told a news conference during the company's semi-annual development conference. ``Our view is that it is still a seasonal second half.''

Personal computer sales often rise in the second half of the year, boosted by sales to students returning to school and holiday shopping. But the economic downturn has raised fears that such an improvement may prove elusive this year.
