Harken or Harkness Oil, whatever the name was, GW's first business venture, Poppy's oil investor buddies funding GW to form a drilling company which got sweetheart deals from the Arabs but still managed to go belly-up and lose 300 million. (debt GW now repaying to those investors?) But before the terminal loss report came out GW cleverly sold his stock for $800,000 while everyone else lost their money. The SEC never charged GW though it was clear insider trading. Afterall his father was president and in those days family members of the president weren't as much attacked.
