MD's and DO's have similar undergraduate education. The main difference is postgraduate training where MD programs are more numerous and better qualified.......more than half of all DO's go into allopathic[md] programs as there are not enough osteopathic hospitals to handle them. Both are well trained in basics, but MD specialty training is superior, such as cardiology, radiology, ent, surgery, and subspecialties within internal medicine.
