Won't the Hammer need new chipset infrastructure? I think even if Jerry had the Hammer piling up in a warehouse right now, he wouldn't be able to release it. I think when you stop hearing of new chipsets etc. for a year, that's probably about the time you can reasonably release a new CPU architecture.

BTW, does anyone have any idea on what will be said at the conference tomorrow? The announcement leaves a lot of suspense - something to the effect of "forward looking information may be released at this event." Perhaps we get details of the marketing campaign? Perhaps a better idea of the roadmap? Does anyone expect a bombshell, like completely eliminating the desktop Palomino and a suggestion that the next release will be a Hammer in Q4 2002 or something nasty like that? You know, they did eliminate the Mustang...
