After you complete post 22135, go to settings, control panel, system, device manager and see if any of the items listed have a yellow mark. BTW: I had a similar but less serious situation that you described. It ended up being an overtaxed system, compounded by a video card driver not loading properly. However, it took going through a lot of basic steps to isolate the problem(s).
