My wife wasn't HMO or Medicare. She has very expensive and good insurance plus we can pay for the time needed.

My doctor retired in '93. In '94 I had a stomach problem, the lining was inflamed. Wife took me to the emergency room. Those doctors diagnosed it as everything but a stomach problem. Now they couldn't do anything without the ok of the guy who bought my doctors practice. He wanted me to come in 10 days and have a physical. Like I wanted to be cramped up for 10 days.

I was assigned a new doctor who got the tests from the hospital. He did know where my stomach was and prescribed something that is now over the counter. Fixed my stomach. Then he tells me I have diabetes and my cholesterol is 400+. The medication gives me the green apple quick steps so I don't take it. 3 months later my diabetes is under control and my cholesterol is 187. I tell him I'm not taking the medication and he tells me it's working and keep taking it. Duh?

Now what really grabs my butt is my wife had a horse accident. Really busted up her knee. Class 5 break. Called 911 and they took her to the trauma hospital. They left her in pain while calling her doctor. He oked a mild pain reliever. Didn't help. Now why are there doctors in the emergency room if they can't treat you?
