Seppo,

Russia, Nigeria and Iran all to increase:

Nigeria to seek increased market share
23-07-01 Barring any setback, Nigeria's crude oil production capacity should, in year 2003, increase by 890,000 bpd. As a result, the country is also hoping to seek an increased market share from the cartel to which it belongs: the OPEC. For this target to be achieved, the Federal Government through the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will in the last quarter of the year begin talks with four multinational oil companies on the commencement of production activities in four oil fields.

Iran's offshore production ready to boom
30-07-01 Iran's offshore oil production will reach 1.1 mm bpd by 2005, compared with the current level of 660,000 bpd. The managing director of Iran's continental shelf oil company, Abulqasem Hassani, said production at the offshore oil fields at the end of this Iranian year (ends 21 March 2002) will be around 700,000 bpd.
On a separate matter, Hassani said Iran's gas production from Dalan-Kangan, the country's only continental shelf gas field, will reach a daily output of some 500 mm cf at the end 2005. Iran's current total onshore and offshore oil production is 3.552 mm bpd.
