JW - See the articles from the Economist. They describe a full scale global slump.

OK if this then is the second worst slump in history then surely we ought to see interest rates at historic lows. The fed rate is now higher than it was in in early 1990s recession which was nowhere near as bad as this.

This is the mother of all recssions. Exec after exece is coming out and admiting they have never seen anything like it and what they mean is not only that but they have never heard of anything as bad even at college. Their body language is that they don't have a clue what to do. The CEO from Enron took the most sensible route...he just walked away.

Heaven help us tomorrow and through the end of October.
