Bob, I have looked at interactive brokers. It's very interesting. I believe they are for real... I think they have a top-3 position in number of NYSE shares traded. (I'm doing from that recall... they may even be #1.) Their minimum commission is $1... this would apply to 100 shares of Nasdaq or NYSE stock. The problem with them is they won't transfer stock in or out. I doubt they do IRAs either. Without the transfers if you are long-term buy and hold for the most part... you are making a big commitment.
