That whole situation is incomprehensible to me.

I never thought about the monetary aspects of dating with regard to my daughters.

I suppose it is something that each couple or date decides on an evolving basis. I know that some of our friends have children who split the costs of prom- this is no longer solely the boys responsibility, where we live. Unless he wants it to be,
