Peter,
>>But I'm betting that they won't meet the formal end point, so maybe the time to buy them is if they announce at the meeting that they didn't hit it. (Although as I've said before, the trial results actually looked pretty good to me, endpoint or no).<<
And in spite of this, you bought anyhow?
Moving on, a little news from BLUE HP holding TWTI:
>>MADISON, Wis., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Third Wave Agbio Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The $100,000 grant will fund research about high-throughput, low-cost DNA-based detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in agricultural food crops using the company's patented Invader product platform.
A GMO is an organism that has been artificially created by introducing DNA sequences from one organism into another to change the traits or functions of the recipient organism. A GMO crop, for example, may have been genetically altered to enhance its resistance to certain pests or chemicals. The development of a simple, accurate and easy to use method of detecting GMO sequences would enable grain handlers, grain processors and food manufacturers to distinguish GMOs from unmodified crops.
``As the reliance on genetically engineered crops continues to increase, the ability to identify and distinguish them from unmodified crops is a major consideration for grain producers, grain handlers, food manufacturers and consumers'' said Glen Donald, chief executive officer of Third Wave Agbio. ``Our research will focus on filling the need to easily detect genetically engineered crops with the simple, accurate and easy to use Invader product platform.''
Success with this project may lead to a $750,000 Phase II grant for development of a broad menu of Invader products to detect GMOs in a range of food crops including, corn, soybeans and canola.
