08:16 ET PCB Book/Bill : As always seems to be the case with book/bill numbers, we're seeing mixed comments this morning about the PCB (printed circuit board) ratio released last night; the number rose to 0.90 in July from 0.74 in June. First Union hails the news as stunningly positive, Banc of America says that actual business trends indicate underlying weakness, and as noted on Short Stories last night, Thomas Weisel Partners says its checks reveal that the increase was due to sales falling faster than orders.
