Manuel,

I've done business with Hollywood Studios in the past and let me say, if their is a lot of money at stake, they will all get on board and accept soft DVD. Security is always an issue, but usually blown way out of proportion. I Rember the huge debate over VHS. Everyone was afraid of un-authorized copying and distribution. But when you look at the numbers, the studios made so much money on VHS that a little theft was tolerable.

I agree that soft dvd will probably do well in PC market due to Intel. They are just to big a force. Home market should do well with DVD chip(s).

The good news is, soft DVD or hardware, the market will use both. DVD will be so big, no one technologhy will dominate. Both are good for the industry because distribution and exposure to consumers will drive this market and all involved should reap the reward$.

John

The studios are always playing ego games with each other. Everyone wants to be the leader. If Paramount says one thing, Disney may say another. Bottom line is, if the cash registers start singing, everyone suddenly agrees and states it was their idea in the first place.
