My friend ran Linux (a public UNIX system in PC) in a Pentium Pro 200Mhz, and found that it's faster than SUN Solaris with UltraSparc 1. However, Linux is not a commercial product. With the performance/price of Intel chips, Windows-NT will have more leverage in the upcoming year. Microsoft stock price will double again in the end of next year. Reasons are: (1) Corporate version of Office 97 coming in the end of year. (2) Windows-NT 5.0 and Windows 98 next spring or summer. (3) Congress will pass enscription law eventually. This will boost up internet commerce. (4) Corporate intranet and internet servers.
