GV and Dave have highlighted a consequence of AMD's "Slower is Faster" sales pitch. AMD will, and already has, become the butt of all kinds of jokes.

The sales pitch that slower is really faster is laughable. First, it highlights your weakness -- slower speed. Then AMD proudly claims that they are really barely adequate and only 400 MHz behind in performance, not 600 (1.4 -> 1.6).
