Both my father and grandfather are lawyers....my grandfather just retired a few years ago after a 60 year career -- he still goes to the office when he's in town to check on investments, mentor young lawyers, and escape from my grandmother <G>. My father has been a corporate lawyer for almost 35 years now and is about ready to scale back his commitment to the firm...He's already taking more vacation than he used to...He may go Of Counsel in a couple of years and use the extra time to write, teach and do more with the family. I was sort of a rebel and didn't go into the legal field....I did take a fascinating business law course in grad. school though. You are right that we have tons of litigation in the society we live in...And some of it is actually very legitimate too...=)
