Maui, Re: "I sense a double standard here. I am not Jerrys fan, but I dont think its fair to trash him on the points you made."

I'm not trash talking as much as I am just surprised. In 2000, AMD and Intel were doing better than they ever had before. Intel had a net income of $10.5 billion for the year, while AMD reigned in with $983 million. But given the relative size of the two companies, I was still amazed that Jerry Sanders had a salary that was twice the amount of Craig Barrett's (as well as option sales that were a good amount above Barrett's as well). I'd like to see what the numbers end up being for this year to see if the situation changes.

Of course, knowing the pattern that this thread has found of Sanders selling his options shortly before any announcements of bad news from his company, I admittedly took a cheap shot. On the other hand, I don't pretend that Barrett is any more saintly of a CEO, so I don't think there is a double standard. But at least I haven't seen any blatant examples of Barrett taking the shareholders for chumps like I have with Jerry. Feel free to provide any counter-examples, if you find them.
