X,

That post was absolutely wonderful and I'm so grateful to you. These things are only as important as we allow them to be, but sometimes it's really hard to just ignore posts and go back to being true to yourself. We have spoken our disappointment at the tactic, and tried to correct it, and really that's all that we can do- other than waste time. And time is not something I want to waste too much of at this point in my advanced years.

It WAS a great story. And it sent me off on several different paths. For instance, I disagreed with CH's saying that Shakespeare's Kate was an anomaly and that even she capitulated. Most interpretations of Kate's final speech are ironic. And Shakespeare has some very strong women in his plays, often much wiser than the men. And then there;s the use of twins- male/female ones who are always getting confused. He was very aware of the man-in-woman, woman-in-man aspect of humanity. Several of his characters didn't even have a sex- like Ariel. And all that led me to a book on the concept of androgyny!

This happens all the time when we discuss topics. I love that about this group.
