Subject: Current Institutional Ownership

gusa is still around, sort of, and the bondholders have yet to tip this into bk.

Jim, I am also somewhat surprised that the bondholders have not pushed this into the courts - or at least I was until I looked at the latest institutional ownership of the equity.

Institutionall ownership as of the latest quarter (end of July) shows 6.1% (reference insidertrader.com.

My post on 08/13/2000 (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14207513) showed institutional ownership down from 38.5% to 22.9%. So, institutional ownership of the common stock has fallen from 38% in the first quarter of 2000 to 6% in the last quarter. I would expect a similar change in the institutional ownership of the bonds during this timeframe, although I have no numbers to justify this.

The lack of institutional ownership may be the primary reason that the bondholders have yet to force this into the courts. Secondarily, the price of the bond implies the risk that interest payments may not be met.

On a different note, while I have not always agreed with Maurice's posts, I have respected the fact that he has been here for so long, day in and day out, helping to keep an informative thread alive. From my perspective, Silicon Investor owes Maurice a big thanks for his work.
