Re: The poor Palestinians have had their noses pressed to the glass of Israeli democracy for 30 years, and they never got any.
If the Haaretz article in my post #2963 is any indication, even genuine Jews from around the world don't want to share in your "Israeli showpiece of democracy"... How come?? But what does your so-called Zionist democracy amount to, in the first place? Israel's a democracy because:
>of its compulsory 3-year military service, that is, basically, the opportunity to go on an Arab-bashing spree in Palestinian territories on a regular basis;
>of its admittedly rigged politics since the Israeli leadership can't allow its Arab minority (20%) to play the swing voter in its election process... Just imagine: as in most democracies, the margin between left and right is usually a few percentage points, so we have 50% of Jews voting Labour and 50% of Jews voting Likud, and 20% of Arab Israelis voting.... guess who tips the scales?? Bottom line: 20% of Arabs weigh more than 50% of Jews! Anyway, even a "democratically elect" army veteran like Yitzahk Rabin can still be "dismissed" through the bullet box.
