Dear Windsock:

So you think a 7000rpm 2 liter engine putting out 100HP is faster than a 5000rpm 6 liter engine putting out 225HP in the same car? How about a 2000rpm VW (80HP) engine in a truck versus a 1500rpm V8 Turbo Diesel (300HP)? How many cars advertise the rpm of the engine versus the HP? Now if some racing shop increases both rpms and HP by 25% increasing the rpm advantage of the VW to 625, would the average buyer get the VW or the Turbo? Now what if the shop only increased the VW rpm and HP by 25%, would the buyer get the VW or the Turbo. In all cases, the typical buyer would get the higher HP engine not the higher rpm one. The same will eventually happen in the PC world.

Even the average Joe or Jane gets this. Why can't you?

Pete
