Your ramble on the power of car engines is insane nonsense. HP is a standard definition of power -- 550 ft-lbs/sec. You can measure HP with good accuracy by determining Torque at a given engine rpm using an engine dynamometer. The effect of the power to weight ratio on acceleration and the ability to perform work is well known I have no idea what point you are trying to make about processors or the "PC world" with your rant on engine power. By the way, a current Formula 1 engine makes 800 HP at 18,000 rpm using a 3.0 L displacement. Pretty cool. But not very useful as a truck motor or in a street car. None of this is relevant in any way to the PC world
