The reason you can't find anything close is that
Dell does not offer that confing so it's not an
apples to apples comparison. ex. minimum RDRAM
from Dell is 256MB.

However, your'e right, GTW does give a pricing
advantage at or near that config especially in
2G pricing. Try some ot the other configs
mentioned in my previous post and you'll see
a reversal.

However, since you included a flat panel display,
it's worth mentioning that Dell has a much higher
quality offering in this dept. Gateway sources
their FP's from GoldStar (cheeeep, not crisp and
spotty quality) whereas Dell uses Samsung. For me
personally, the monitor is not an area to skimp
on quality.

It's hard to do an apples to apples comparison
in a lot of cases simply due to the quality of
peripherals which are not evident when just
putting pricing together. If you dig to find
out who the manufacturers are, and know something
about their brand/quality, it's easier to find
the better deal. Sometimes it's Dell, sometimes
GTW, sometimes CPQ. And they can flip flop
overnight.
