If you plot it back to '91 since that was really the start of this bull market (one method) then we already violated the LT uptrend around 2300. We then rallied back up to that trend in May/June (near 2500 at that point) and then headed lower. The fact that we were repelled from that trend suggests to me that it is probably the "true" uptrend line.
