Just spoke to my father who lives in the Bay Area. Looks like the newspapers also have a lag effect in their reporting because property prices are breaking down pretty fast out there - he can't believe it. When I spoke to him about the subject two months ago, he told me things seemed ok.

NYC is next. I wouldn't be surprised if residential was chopped in 1/2 in the high end.
