"when things turn around (and they will, eventually) I expect SUNW to be a leader"

Why?

Now the free money scheme is over. People can no longer use vast sums of VC and IPO money to buy expensive Sun equipment and run an unviable business long enough to sell stock and retire.

Who is going to buy Sun kit? Schwab? Corning? WorldCom? Etoys?

What does Sun have apart from aging overpriced offerings? How are they going to keep their staff when a) they have been laying people off and b) they can no longer offer a chance of becoming a millionaire thru stock options (except to officers at shareholder dilution expense of course).

I don't want an answer based on faith, hope or charity. Let's have some facts. How are they different to SGI?

Edit - Of course I forgot, there is still some free money, i.e. govt and academic purchases. They will still buy Sun kit. Why is it that it is always people with OPM that buy Sun kit?
