You think Telecom deregulation was a failure? That is really naive. The advances of the last 5 years were in part due to the market feeding frenzy started by the Telecom Act of 1996. Deregulation is very often a good thing. Regardless of the crapola the economy is in now, it will recover stronger than ever. We're already seeing the signs of the weak dying out and the strong consolidating. That is economic Darwinism at its best.
