Bob,

I made a mistake in my previous post:

SUNW was at trailing P/E 25, forward P/E around 20 in 1996.

At, the same time, INTC was at a trailing P/E around 21, forward P/E 18-19.

CSCO and DELL was at trailing P/E around 30. MSFT around 48. ORCL around 25.

At that time, these guys were all enjoying tremendous growth. DELL was clipping at 50-70% top and bottom line growth. Yet, lots of bears were believing that these stocks were overvalued.

If I have to compare current valuations on these issues as of today vs. that of in 1996, it is night and day.

And I don't believe that these companies can grow at rates even close to those that they enjoyed 5 years ago.

The bottom line to me, these tech bellwethers are still way too richly valued. Value is nowhere to be found in the elite group so far.

enjoy,
larry
