William Schneider on CNN Politics reported that in the latest Bush poll the Bush supporters were the ones overwhelmingly still optimistic about the economy. So many who support Bush are filled with wishful thinking and denial. At least that poll suggests this is the case. And if so if this lousy economy becomes indisputable Bush will lose part of his core support. Apparently he's succeeded in charming quite a few Americans, but I believe it's all facade and no substance. If they knew the details of his programs they wouldn't be so charmed. And when we're still in the economic dumps a year from now that spells trouble for the GOP.
