I have most of my accounts at Datek. I keep one at WEBS and plan to let it go to E*Trade so I can get a feel for what kind of company they are.

I find Datek superior in many ways ... except one. They are anxious to have their clients switch to electronic confirmations, statements, etc. Not only have I no interest in electronic verifications, I insist on hardcopy documents. (Most folks probably would not agree with me, but I'd rather pay a higher fee for standard support, than a cut-rate for sub-standard support.) If Datek continues to squeeze me, I'll be obliged to switch to another broker.

Probably as part of the "switch to electronic" push, Datek arbitrarily decided to stop sending monthly statements and now sends them once a quarter, instead. That is inadequate.

You may wonder why I still do most of my business with them ... it's because I'm used to the rest of their service, and I like them.
