Malcolm, today I am trading SUNW & JDSU, both having a nice range day. I am quitting early, around noon cst...Going for a very long lunch to practice for the long weekend...

The market getting a nice lift off of a good factory order number...but we get this revised confidence number. Hmmm, who knows what to think of all this crap?

"Revised University of Michigan consumer sentiment was just released around 9:50 ET. The number fell to a 91.5 reading in August from 92.4 in July. The market's initial reaction was negative with equities falling on the news -- the consensus expectation had been for an improvement in the figure to 93.5. Yet the number shouldn't be a complete surprise in light of the weaker than anticipated Consumer Confidence data reported earlier this week. Taken together, the Michigan Sentiment data and Consumer Confidence numbers suggest there may be cracks in the foundation of what had been a very resilient consumer. The question at this point is whether the negative data has been priced in at current levels as the markets are oversold on a near-term basis. Chicago PMI was just released at 10:00 ET and the number came in at 43.5, stronger than the expected reading of 40.0. This release has been enough to offset the weak sentiment number for the time being."

I don't trust any of their numbers anymore, I trust in myself not to get hood-winked, period!!
