VIX prints a 29 this morning. it is falling as the market rises, dead cat bounce. As I write a pullback is occurring. Nothing goes straight down usually.

I've got a friend who stubbornly didn't sell CIEN at 100 early this year. I told him time after time, again in the 60s and 40s. He finally sold at 30, days before it cratered.

He's been holding YHOO for 4 years now. It's below his cost, but he recently increased his position. When it got to 21, I said SELL. He said it's looking good. I suppose it's looking better as a buy at 12. If it gets to 4, maybe not.

He believes broadband is going to make a strong comeback. It may but he's risking retirement money in these markets. I just can't get him to play it safe.
