The phrase,"throwing stones" does not refer to criticism but instead refers to the use of a weapon in an attempt to destroy someone. Constructive criticism is helpful but destructive criticism serves a viscous purpose from the instigator. In the days of the BIble, stone throwing was similar to a lynch mob.
