The Strategis Group Webcast to Discuss Teen Wireless Market Projections and Wireless Carrier Initiatives
Landmark Study Examines Growing Teen Demand for Wireless Devices and Services
WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The Strategis Group will sponsor a webcast and conference call on September 6, 2001 to discuss the findings from its new study, ``Next Generation Survey: What U.S. Teens Say About Wireless.'' Further, The Strategis Group analysts will examine the strategies of wireless carriers to target the teen market and promote value-added services.

The Strategis Group interviewed a nationwide sample of U.S. teens, 13 to 17 years of age. The results indicate that among these 20 million U.S. teens, there is a growing demand and for wireless services and a strong attraction to purchase associated value-added services. 17.4% of the sample group have a wireless phone and 26.3% of the sample share a wireless phone with another family member.

The study includes demand analysis of:

* Devices,
* Service Packages,
* Value-added Services.

Teens who own or plan to acquire a wireless phone are likely to also have other communication products and services, including Internet access, MP3 players, pagers and PDA's. ``Wireless is yet another channel that teens are increasingly demanding,'' states Adam Guy, Senior Analyst of The Strategis Group. ``The results of this study may validate or extinguish the assumptions made by manufacturers and wireless carriers.'' For example, Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless just announced new teen focused strategies.

The webcast and conference call will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2001 at 2 p.m. EDT (11 AM PDT). To participate in the event, sign up on line at videonewswire.com . For further details contact Laura Wert at 202-530-7510 or visit The Strategis Group website at strategisgroup.com .
