Here is what Leitch will display soon.....
Leitch Will Showcase Enhanced and Comprehensive Product Line at IBC 2001
8/21/2001, Bracknell, U.K. - Leitch Technology Corporation (TSE:LTV; NASDAQ:LVID) — a leading provider of high-quality digital video and audio solutions to the broadcasting, telecommunications, cable and Internet industries — is pleased to announce that visitors to IBC 2001 will be treated to a showcase of cutting-edge developments, including new Leitch innovations and an impressive DPS post production range. From signal acquisition, to news and production, to transmission and post production, Leitch will be demonstrating equipment that addresses every aspect of the broadcast industry.
Among the new products to be featured is CCS, a Windows®-based distributed, real-time command and control system used to configure, provision and monitor Leitch and third-party equipment. CCS represents a user-friendly approach to detecting and solving many operational issues before they can affect an organization’s revenue stream.
Leitch will also preview NEO™, a new modular interface series of products for broadcast, teleproduction, remote (OB) production, cable/telco, satellite and IP networks. Supporting analog, hybrid, serial digital, high-definition and optical systems, NEO provides the tools needed to simplify operations today and in the future. Visitors should also take note of the DPS-575 multi-format synchronizer, which is ideal for operations making the transition to digital. The breadth and depth of the Leitch "True Shared Storage" solutions for the broadcast industry can be viewed in the transmission and newsroom areas of the booth. Applications include ingest and playout, archiving, on-line and proxy editing, as well as preparing broadcast programming for distribution through public networks and the Internet.
In the transmission area visitors will be able to see a demonstration of master control operations using True Shared storage. Operations utilize VR440 multi-channel video servers running under automation and integrated with Leitch’s WAN Gateway, Opus™ master control switcher and dpsNetStreamer™, an expandable, Web streaming encoder. The system will also incorporate Integrator™ routers featuring Leitch’s innovative Blue3 Dynamic Network Fabric, a self-healing router network able to route around failed components and/or frames.
Leitch will also display a new generation of completely integrated newsroom solutions designed to take advantage of the benefits of True Shared storage. New products include the VR465 NEWSFlash-II™ and VR475 NEWSFlash-II FX™ non-linear editors for use in news and sports. The tight integration allows for improved workflow and easy and familiar editing operations. Also available for demonstration will be BrowseCutter, Leitch’s cost-effective video browser/editor and Whiplash2™, the new slow-motion instant replay system. And visitors should make special note to view Leitch’s long-awaited next-generation still store, MediaFile™, which provides new and existing StillFile® customers with an improved growth path for the future.
Visitors to IBC will also have a chance to see the recently launched VR445 self-contained, two-channel, entry-level server, which effectively reduces the cost of transition for small to medium broadcast facilities in moving from tape-based to transmission playout server products, while also providing an upgrade path to a full-shared storage system.
In the area of post production, Leitch will be showing the dpsVelocity™ 8.0 non-linear editor, which provides multiple timeline support and allows for real-time garbage mattes and multi-camera editing. Other post production products include the dpsRealityHD, which provides single-stream HDCAM native storage with an SDTI interface, and the new dpsQuattrus™, which allows record and playback of four channels of video via the PCI bus, as well as through the onboard SCSI controller.
Leitch Technology Corporation provides leading-edge solutions to store, switch, distribute, convert, and otherwise process high-quality audio and video signals. Applications for Leitch products span the broadcast, telco, cable, post production, Internet, and business-to-business markets. Leitch is headquartered in Toronto, ON Canada, with other key offices in Virginia, California, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.
