Fyo, "This is exactly why some people on this thread cannot take your comments seriously."

Go easy on me. I was setting up an example. Intel put "up to 30%" on some of their slides, but this number has been slippery, to say the least. I've seen a ton of powerpoint slides from IDF, and some say "at least 30%", some say "10%-40%", and others say "up to 2x performance on server apps, up to 40% on workstation apps". The demonstration was on a rendering package called Maya, and they got 30% out of that. Likely, there won't be a good number to settle on until some benchmarks are performed. I don't pretend that hyperthreading is the end-all for AMD, but it is certainly the best news for Intel and their server market that I've heard in a long time (not to mention all the performance enhancements in McKinley). If Intel can get even 20% or 30% on those apps that were previously losing big time to AMD, I would consider that a big win for them. Wouldn't you?
