I disagree. I am not familiar with Maya. But most software packages which max out the processor have already been written for multithreading, since they were coded to take advantage of dual processor workstations. Thus any application package which is extremely CPU intensive will most likely quoted for dual processors, and will automatically benefit by multi threading.

Maybe Intel shot itself in the foot ! All dual processor systems now become one processor systems.
